Corrections

Corrections policy

We work to get every fact right, and we correct errors promptly. If you believe something on this site is wrong, out of date or unfair, email corrections@criminalbackstories.com. Include the page, the statement in question and, if you can, a source showing the correct information.

What we do with a report

An editor reviews every report. When a fact is wrong, we fix it and update the page's "last updated" date. When a correction changes the substance of a page, such as a person's legal status, we say so on the page.

Cases change. Convictions are overturned, charges are dropped and sentences are commuted. When a case's status changes, we update the page as quickly as we can.

Requests from people named on this site

If you are named on this site, or you are a victim or a relative of someone who is, you may contact us at the same address. We will review the request with care, especially where it concerns private details that are not essential to the record.
